HR Advisor & PA FTC 12 Months

Bowmill Poole is currently seeking an experienced HR Advisor. The role also includes PA duties to the Managing Director & Chairman. This is a 12 month fixed term contract role covering maternity leave.
The ideal candidate will hold a CIPD Level 5 qualification (may consider working towards), a strong generalist background and have sound written and verbal communication skills.
The main aspects of the position include:

  • Ensuring the business [managers] are aware of employment legislation, all/any pending changes and changes to legislation
  • To liaise with payroll with any changes to employee remuneration packages, sickness, new starters & leavers and annual leave.
  • To undertake induction training to all new staff
  • Employee relations, including managing absence, disciplinaries, grievances and sickness, performance & development.
  • Co-ordinate training and development requirements
  • Overall responsibility for recruitment activity and campaigns in conjunction with the Managing Director, implementation of new HR policies, procedures and processes.
  • Managing Director & Chairman’s diary management.
  • Managing all international and domestic business travel (for the Managing Director, Chairman and Managers) – including booking flights and hotel accommodation and transportation where necessary

Production Engineer

Bowmill Poole

Bowmill Engineering, Poole is currently recruiting for an experienced and dedicated Production Engineer to join our production team.

The main aspects of the role comprise of:

  • Managing and expediting your assigned customers orders from receipt until delivery of a finished product
  • Entering all customer sales on the sales management sheet
  • Ensure that all information is detailed and accurate, week by week, in preparation for weekly sales reviews
  • You will be responsible for ensuring all production requirements are entered accurately onto the production run list and capacity planning schedules.
  • Attending all production meetings and reviews as required
  • On the first day of each month, you will be providing a delivery performance report, arrears quantity and value and a declaration of monthly and quarterly projected sales to customer demand and order.

The ideal candidate will have had previous experience working in a similar role and industry and will also thrive in a fast-paced, passionate environment. Experience working in a customer facing role is a must, as well as working closely with engineers on a shop floor.

Stores Person

Bowmill Poole

Bowmill Poole is currently seeking a Raw Material Stores Person.

The ideal candidate would have good experience in bonded material stores and cutting of metal bars to billet. Experience in the aerospace industry is essential. It would be advantageous that the successful candidate would hold a valid forklift licence, although not essential as we will provide training. The successful candidate must have a valid driving licence as will be required to drive a forklift on a road once trained, if not already.

The Raw Material Stores Person will be responsible for:

  • Controlling raw material storage and issue, including booking in material from suppliers and reviewing incoming delivery certificates
  • Ensuring the production process is uninterrupted due to material issue
  • Ensure the highest level of quality control/inspection conditions are applied at all times during the process
  • Maintain quality records and documentation in accordance with Bowmill procedures

CNC Mill/Turn Programming/Setting/Operating

Bowmill Poole is currently seeking a fully skilled CNC Mill/Turn.

Your main responsibilities will involve;

  • Reading & interpreting a 2D drawing
  • Producing CNC programs off line [Edgecam software/programming experience is an advantage] from customer drawings – not just editing
  • Fully fixture and tool [cutters] to produce component to drawing
  • Inspecting own work to drawing
  • Aerospace requirements/standards, tolerancing and controls
  • CNC Operating systems
  • General high standard of engineering ability – fully skilled
  • 5C

Your skills and qualifications as a fully skilled CNC Mill/Turn;

  • Completed a recognised apprenticeship in mechanical engineering
  • Experience of CNC and manual turning
  • Be able to program, set and operate different machine tools

What we are looking for in you;

Adept with FANUC Controls and have solid experience in the aerospace industry.

Quality Engineer

Bowmill Poole

Bowmill Poole is currently seeking an experienced Quality Engineer.

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring correct practice, legalities and responsibilities in respect of the QMS/H&S/EMS are maintained.
  • Managing customer returns & QUALITY CLINICS in accordance with Company Procedure & to the defined time restraints.
  • Customer liaison in respect of customer returns & Root Cause Corrective Action.
  • Supporting internal and external auditing activities.
  • Maintaining the Quality Management System.
  • Initiating, managing and documenting all corrective actions to ensure preventative action is effective and production management is not compromised.
  • Ensuring product non-conformity & customer is communicated to the production staff in a timely manner.
  • Monitoring performance of all direct manufacturing operatives[workshop daily patrol] in respect of quality and recommend training, or corrective action as appropriate to secure sales and performance objectives.
  • Ensuring employee training is identified, managed and documented accurately and timely.
