Mechanical Inspector

The Mechanical Inspector will be responsible for:

  • First off, final and first article inspection of CNC milled prismatic components, CNC turned machined parts and fully assembled products to high aerospace quality standards
  • Detecting errors on workshop documentation [works order cards]
  • Ability to read and interpret 2D drawings and model definition
  • Using CMM and various electronic and hand-held measuring instruments
  • To ensure and support root cause corrective action is completed effectively and in a timely manner

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a similar engineering workshop environment within the aerospace industry. You must have excellent attention to detail and be capable of maintaining exceptional high standards of process control in all aspects of quality.

HR Advisor & PA FTC 15 Months

The ideal candidate will hold a CIPD Level 5 qualification (may consider working towards), a strong HR generalist background and have sound written and verbal communication skills.

Specific Duties:

  • Provide an effective and professional HR service covering the full HR generalist remit
  • Successfully complete recruitment campaigns
  • Take responsibility for induction training for all new staff and oversee refresher training for current staff
  • Produce accurate HR statistical reports
  • Support the management team with disciplinary and grievance cases to ensure processes are completed fairly and effectively
  • Support with general administration to the Health & Safety process
  • Provide PA support to the Managing Director and Chairman

Stores Person

Bowmill Poole

Bowmill Poole is currently seeking a Raw Material Stores Person.

The ideal candidate must have good experience in bonded material stores and cutting of metal bars to billet. Experience in the aerospace industry is essential. It would be advantageous that the successful candidate would hold a valid forklift licence, although not essential as we will provide training. The successful candidate must have a valid driving licence as will be required to drive a forklift on a road once trained.

The Raw Material Stores Person will be responsible for:

  • Controlling raw material storage and issue, including booking in material from suppliers and reviewing incoming delivery certificates
  • Ensuring the production process is uninterrupted due to material issue
  • Ensure the highest level of quality control/inspection conditions are applied at all times during the process
  • Maintain quality records and documentation in accordance with Bowmill procedures

Production Coordinator

Bowmill Poole is currently seeking an experienced Production Coordinator to manage production schedules for key customers

As a Production Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

  • Scheduling machine shop[s] production utilising Bowmill’s bespoke MRP/ERP production management system
  • Stock & WIP data interrogation
  • Scheduling machines to produce aircraft components/ KITS to OE and spares for customer delivery requirements
  • Scheduling raw material using pre-determined call off data to ensure raw material is available and in stock to match internal production requirements
  • Raising works order cards in line with production planning
  • Updating customer portals with confirmed delivery and order quantity status
  • Maintaining/updating master production model data as required to meet capacity

Your skills and qualifications as a Production Coordinator:

  • A high degree of excel experience and operating knowledge is essential
  • Business Operating Systems knowledge is essential, Epicor/Vantage business system experience is an advantage but not essential
  • An understanding of KANBAN logistics would be beneficial but not essential

CNC Miller Programmer/Setter/Operator

Bowmill Poole is currently seeking a fully skilled CNC Miller Programmer/Setter/Operator.

Your main responsibilities will involve:

  • Programming, setting and operating CNC MILLS with FANUC [or Siemens] operating control system to produce prismatic components to customer drawings and specifications
  • Producing offline and online CNC programs using CAD/CAM software. Experience of Edgecam and Solidworks software/programming is an advantage but not essential
  • Inspection of your own work to drawing and SPC requirements
  • General high standard of engineering ability – fully skilled
  • Maintain your area to a high standard of 5C/5S

Your skills and qualifications as a fully skilled CNC Miller Programmer/Setter/Operator:

  • Completed a recognised apprenticeship in mechanical engineering
  • General high standard of engineering ability – fully skilled
  • Working knowledge of fourth and fifth axis machines is an advantage

What we are looking for in you:

Adept with FANUC Controls and have solid experience in the aerospace industry.

Production Engineer

Bowmill Engineering, Poole is currently recruiting for an experienced and dedicated Production Engineer to join our production team.

The main aspects of the role comprise of:

  • Managing and expediting your assigned customers orders from receipt until delivery of a finished product
  • Entering all customer sales on the sales management sheet
  • Ensure that all information is detailed and accurate, week by week, in preparation for weekly sales reviews
  • You will be responsible for ensuring all production requirements are entered accurately onto the production run list and capacity planning schedules.
  • Attending all production meetings and reviews as required
  • On the first day of each month, you will be providing a delivery performance report, arrears quantity and value and a declaration of monthly and quarterly projected sales to customer demand and order.

Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring correct practice, legalities and responsibilities in respect of the Quality Management System is maintained.
  • Managing customer returns & QUALITY CLINICS in accordance with Company Procedure & to the defined time restraints.
  • Customer liaison in respect of customer returns & Root Cause Corrective Action.
  • Supporting internal and external auditing activities.
  • Maintaining the Quality Management System.
  • Initiating, managing and documenting all corrective actions to ensure preventative action is effective and production management is not compromised.
  • Ensuring product non-conformity & customer is communicated to the production staff in a timely manner.
  • Monitoring performance of all direct manufacturing operatives[workshop daily patrol] in respect of quality and recommend training, or corrective action as appropriate to secure sales and performance objectives.
  • Ensuring employee training is identified, managed and documented accurately and timely.
