About us
For over fifty years Bowmill Group has been manufacturing precision engineering components to sub-micron tolerances for the aerospace, defence and marine sectors.
With 175 staff located at facilities in Poole, Dorset and Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. Bowmill is your preferred partner for complex components and high volume KANBAN production regimes. Our flexible approach to customer service makes us the valued partner for single-part components up to pressure tested sub-assemblies and kit of parts supply – all under AS1900 & NADCAP quality management approvals.
Our drive to reach the unparalleled excellence in engineering has seen us attain some of the highest Management System accreditations and NADCAP processing approvals.

The Bowmill Story begins in 1970 in Poole, Dorset
Bowmill was first incorporated to provide precision engineered components for a variety of industries. Within two years the company, enjoying huge demand from the defence sector, began a long term investment strategy in developing capacity and complimentary services. This resulted in relocating to a 12,000 sq.ft purpose-built facility to enhance its capability in providing high quality manufacturing resource to the most demanding standards.
Moving into our second decade, Bowmill continued to grow with capacity increasing by 50% and new facilities to house additional services. From here the company embarked on making further strategic investments, with the Millennium seeing the purchase of what is now Bowmill Metal Treatments to provide a wide range of surface treatment disciplines. This gave customers a seamless route from machining through assembly, testing and coating, providing a more convenient procurement process and improved component quality.
Three years later in 2007 Bowmill bought a new site adjacent to our main operations centre for an all-new, dedicated facility to provide KANBAN-based direct line feed products, further upscaling our capacity and flexibility to meet supply chain needs from customers.
Demand for our work in precision engineering continues to fuel our growth. In 2014 Bowmill purchased Taymar Ltd to further complement its own grinding and spool and sleeve operations
During 2018 Bowmill formally opened the latest facility in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, providing significant increased capacity and capability.
This latest investment in innovative manufacturing automation [robotics], class-leading quality management processes and advanced logistics makes us a precision engineering company on a truly global scale.
