Mechanical Inspector

Join Our Team as a Mechanical Inspector in Aerospace Engineering

As a Mechanical Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring that all products meet strict quality and compliance standards throughout the manufacturing process. You will be responsible for inspecting components at various stages to prevent non-conforming product and maintain the high standards expected within the aerospace sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect products at planned stages, including first-off, FAIR, final inspection, pre-treatment, and goods in/out
• Carry out detailed dimensional and visual inspections throughout the manufacturing process
• Raise Purchase Orders for subcontract suppliers as required
• Identify non-conforming product, raise NCRs, and ensure parts are correctly labelled and contained
• Communicate quality issues promptly to Quality Engineers and production teams
• Complete FAIRs in line with company procedures
• Use customer quality systems and software (e.g. Net-Inspect)
• Work to customer-specific requirements such as DSQR
• Compile and approve Certificates of Conformity
• Contribute to RCCA 8D meetings as required

Skills and Experience

• Previous experience in a similar Mechanical Inspector role within an engineering or manufacturing environment
• Aerospace industry experience is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of inspection processes and quality standards
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
• Ability to maintain high standards of process control across all quality activities
